Hello! I’m Meriem, the creative force behind Food-Quests.com. I am a Moroccan, born and raised in the enchanting land of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytales. I spent nine years in Denmark with my parents and older brother before embarking on a new chapter of my life in Canada.
My journey of culinary exploration began at a very young age. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a family where food was not only a necessity but also a shared passion.
I now reside in the South of France where I continue to explore new recipes and nurture my love for food cultures.
As a trained journalist with a background in Nutrition and Food Cultures, I started this website in 2021 as a fun-loving project to further explore the food cultures of the world and share my findings (and excitement!) with others in a colourful way.
I believe food is a medium for people of all ages to explore other cultures, challenge their tastebuds and learn more about the ingredients that fuel their body.
I’ll be sharing my best-loved recipes from my travels, my most recent finds from the food world and so much more!

Through Food-Quests.com, I hope to make learning about food just as enjoyable as tasting it!
Let me take you on a gastronomic journey to celebrate the beauty of cuisines and cultures across the globe. We will cover a wide variety of topics, ranging from the widely acknowledged to the hidden gems, and even the charmingly peculiar.
Food is a big part of our identity as humans. But it is also a universal language that units us all, no matter where we come from or where we are going in life. My aspiration is to foster unity among humanity so that we can all grow and learn from each other. I want everyone to find fun and happiness in their food adventures. And I want to make food knowledge more accessible and more exciting for all.
More recently, I have initiated a dedicated section titled ‘Food in Media,’ aimed at providing more insight into food references across a spectrum of popular media, spanning from literature to cinematic productions.
I hope that this virtual space can act as a borderless realm where people from all over the world can roam freely and get inspired to create their own delicious dishes and exciting food adventures.
